Structure and topology of a brittle-ductile fault swarm at Crawford Knob, Franz Josef, New Zealand

We present surface and structural models of a swarm dm-scale subparallel faults exposed in ∼2000 m2 glaciated outcrop near Franz Josef Glacier, the Southern Alps New Zealand. These structures are inferred to have slipped at ∼20 km depth hanging-wall Alpine Schist Fault under conditions that were variably brittle ductile as Pacific Plate was tilted uplifted. Using field mapping, real-time kinematic GPS digital images from remotely piloted aircraft system, we created model orthophotographs ground resolution ∼1 cm map compositional layering metasediments array brittle-ductile displacing them. In order decreasing relative age (and average thickness), displaced markers schist include primary psammite pelite beds, quartz veins, deformational foliation. The been used create 2-D transects 3-D where projected down-dip, determine connectivity, topology intersection types fault swarm.
